Multiple Secunia Advisories on Lotus Notes...

Category

Well...does this end the run on no glitches in the Notes client?

Secunia Advisory
IBM Response

Time to get patching, unless you have code that does this.

1 - IBM responses already posted here: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus/security/

2 - So there's another issue with the viewers. There was the JPG issue with them as well, I seem to remember. I guess we could call that a Notes vulnerability, but I don't think of the viewers as really part of Notes. I know, they're installed by default and users use them. I just differentiate between Notes itself and things Notes uses. Whether I launch IE separately or use the embedded IE control within Notes, I consider security issues that come up to be IE-related, not Notes-related.

3 - True, but these are DLL's within Notes, so even though they are viewers, they are viewers that are kinda/sorta considered part of Notes. Also, aren't they made by a third party?

Either way, I don't like this feeling...it feels so...redmonian...
